Love the Lord your God with all your heart an with all your mind and with all your strength.
What do you devote most of your time, attention, and thoughts to?? You know what I mean. When we are in our youth, it’s usually a boy or girl. You are consumed with thinking about them, wanting to be with them. Just being with them brings you huge amounts of sheer happiness, exhilaration, and excitement. We have all been there. It might not be an actual boyfriend or girlfriend. It might be a crush or a close friend. Activities in life can consume us. For teens it can be cheer, sports, music, or just hanging out. You are willing to do just about anything for what you love. It’s easy to quickly become consumed by the things we love. Now, grab these things, these feelings that accompany something we love……..excitement, joy, anticipation, allowing your thoughts to be taken over, exhilaration, even healthy obsession……and think about this verse. Do you really love God? Can your love relationship with the Almighty be defined by these feelings you so freely give to other things and people who are so important to you?? Love is a small word with GINORMOUS meaning. Love is not just a word, or even just a feeling. It’s action. Love means nothing if you speak it, but your actions do not prove it. The Bible says to love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, ALL your mind, and ALL your strength. In a real relationship with Christ, you pour your heart into it. When you don’t feel like it, you do it anyway. You ACT upon your love for God because that’s real love. When you are weak and are tempted to do things that would disappoint God, you call to Him for strength. You give EVERYTHING you have to Him. You don’t just talk about it. You DO it. You get up and go to church…yes, even on Sunday mornings when you are tired…because you LOVE GOD. You get your Bible off the shelf and you read it with a sincere heart because you LOVE GOD. When you love someone or something, you just can’t get enough. So my question for you today is this….Do you really LOVE God? Do you really have a real relationship with Jesus Christ or do you just give lip service to Him? Jesus put His love into ACTION for you and me. HE loves you enough that he died a horrible death for you. If you are a Christian, live for God, love God with a fervor, a thirst that can’t be quenched. I promise you, you won’t be sorry. When we fall in love with God, truly LOVE God, His power is unleashed in our lives. If you don’t have a relationship with Christ, I pray the spirit will draw you in and you will run to Him because without Him, life is hopeless. Get out their today and go love God with ALL you have. It will make Him smile upon you, and that my friend, is the greatest love relationship of all.
